More than 70% Female Tested HIV Positive In Ghana

The Reverend of Medical insurance fitness, Hon John Yieleh Chireh has said that, from January-June 2011, 27,988 individuals were examined HIV beneficial. He said female’s form 77% of the complete individuals. He created this known recently in Accra when his ministry had their turn of the meet the press series structured by the Secretary of state for Information.

According to him, 550,537 individuals received examining and therapy (97,157 were men and 453,380 were females), 27,988 were examined HIV beneficial, revealing a period occurrence of 4% among this, 77% of the complete benefits were ladies.

He added that, during the half year, a complete of 7,517 individuals created up of 6,954 adults and 563 children were put on ART.


He further reported that, the area has a four ideal plan, with five large ideal purpose that include: fill money breaks in use of health and ensure lasting financing understanding that protect the poor, develop government and boost proficiency and success in health support shipping, and also develop use of quality expectant mothers. Neonatal, kid and young support,: increase avoidance and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases: and finally boost institutional care, such as mental health solutions shipping.

He further reported that, measure such as providing adequate heath facilities and equipment that will boost the localization of treatment, broadening coverage of CHPS, increase use of primary medical solutions, hr progression, private area relationship, review and progression of health area bill and increase behavior change strategy especially for dangerous such as health routines are some of the measures to deal with expectant mothers and kid health issues.
He hinted that, Ante natal coverage have also increased from 32.4% in 2010 to 46.0% this year “deliveries by skilled attendants have increased from 16.1% for the half year in 2010 to 27.1% for the same period in 2011, post natal coverage improved from 18.7 in 2010 to 29.5% in 2011, maternal mortality declined from 451 in 2007 to 350 in 2010 showing a significant decrease. In order to achieved the MDG 5 target by 2015 therefore reduction of maternal mortality to 185 per 100,00 death our effort need to be doubled”.
